This is my favorite drawing so far that i have done. I think doing these kind of drawings is definitley something i could get very good at, because they can be anything really. You can use any medium, any paper, any idea, thats what i really liked about this drawing. I was able to pick it up pretty fast. I knew what i wanted to do and was able to start on it without thinking about it too much.
I thought of something i like to do. So for thumbnails it was mostly hunting and fishing, peaceful things. I started with the main part, which was the bow, and slowly added in other parts over time. I did the closest tree to help me model the other trees for the backround. I had only a few trees to start so i put in more land features including a creek and some blades of grass but i still needed more. So, i added some evergreen trees and darkened up the back of the paper to add depth. I made the picture change dramatically by putting in mountain slope in corner, completley altering what the viewer is seeing as what the backround is.
I really love the way it all turned out. Except for the details on the deer and the bow, i could have done a much better shading job there. Another thing i could have done was add blurry trees to the backround for added detail. Never the less, the picture turned out how i wanted it to and i just love it. I love the meaning it has for me personally and the memories and thoughts i think of looking at it. It's almost as if i could make a sequal drawing or something because its a picture in action. Very pleased with this
